DIVINE PROTECTION IN THE MIDST OF DANGERS

(Psalm 91)

A glowing testimony to the security of those who trust in GOD.

He who *dwells*(continuous stay and not an occasional visitor) *in the shelter of the Most High.*

will *rest in the shadow of the Almighty.*

*A. What the LORD will give to those who trust in Him?*

1. *God will give him refuge*.(91:2)

2. *God will be a fortress for him*.(91:2)

3.*God will save him from the fowler's snare*.(91:3 a)

4.*God will save him from the deadly pestilence.* (91:3 b)

5. *God will cover him with His feathers*.(91:4 a)

6. *God will give him refuge under His wings*.(91:4 b)

7.*God's faithfulness will be his shield and rampart* .(91:4 c)

8. He will *not fear the terror of night*.(91:5 a)

9. He will *not fear the arrow that flies by day*.(91:5 b)

10. He will *not fear the pestilence that stalks in the darkness.* (91:6 a)

11.He will *not fear the plague that destroys at midday.* (91:6 b)

12. He will *get protection from the thousands who come against him*. (91:7)

13. He will *see the punishment of the wicked.*(91:8)

*B. What is GOD OFFERING to all those who fully trust in Him?*

( *"IF"* in 91: 9 is *conditional*. Not for everyone but only for those who fully trust or depend on God and for those who lead a life as per His Word.)

1. *Then no harm* will befall you. (91:10 a)

2. *Then no disaster* will come near your tent. (91:10 b)

3. Then *God will command His angels about him*.(91:11 a)

4. Then *God's angels will guard him in all his ways*. (91:11 b)

5. Then *God's angels will lift him in their hands from danger*.(91:12)

6. Then he will *tread upon lions and poisonous snakes*. (91:13)

*C. What is GOD PROMISING to those who truly love and trust Him?*

1. *I will rescue him*.(91:14 a)

2. *I will protect him*.(91:14 b)

3. *I will answer him*.(91:15 a)

4. *I will be with him in trouble*.(91:15 b)

5. *I will deliver him*.(91: 15 c)

6. *I will honour him*.(91:15 c)

7. *I will satisfy him with long life*.(91:16 a)

8. *I will show him my salvation*.(91:16 b)

Friends, GOD never offered a life without problems but offer protection in every situation IF we trust in Him.

Psalm 91 is one of the Psalms which I memorised as a small boy. When I go through problems, threats, loneliness, difficulties...my GOD is so real and His protection is so divine.

*Let us DWELL in HIM continuously and experience His divine protection throughout our life.*

Leaders manage Their Time and Do More with Less.*

⛹️‍♂️ *Application* : Ps.90:12,17- *This life should be preparation for the next life—where we will spend eternity.* That means we should determine what God wants to accomplish with our lives and make sure we invest our time in things that will benefit His kingdom and have an eternal effect in people’s lives. Moses had seen a generation squander 40 years in the wilderness. He believed that if leaders could only gain a keen sense of the swift passage of time, and if they could work for something significant, they could die with a great sense of satisfaction. *Leaders manage Their Time and Do More with Less.*

📖Ps.90: *It is the only psalm of Moses that we have. Moses was the first writer of the Bible.* It is a remarkable psalm. It was Martin Luther who wrote: “Just as Moses acts in teaching the law, so does he in this Psalm. For he preaches death, sin and condemnation, in order that he may alarm the proud who are secure in their sins, and that he may set before their eyes their sin and evil.” That is the teaching of this psalm.

💡Ps…90:8- *Secret sin on earth is open scandal in heaven.* The angels are watching you; they see what you do down here.

💡Ps.91:14- *in verse 14 there are two “becauses,” and they are very important:* BECAUSE he hath set his love upon me, therefore will I deliver him: I will set him on high, BECAUSE he hath known my name.

⚠️Ps.91:11-12- *This is the verse quoted by Satan when Jesus was in the wilderness. But Satan conveniently forgot to quote the phrase, “In all thy ways”.* The Father shall keep Jesus in all His ways. “This isn’t a chance for Me to test My Father,” *Jesus would, in effect say. “It’s an opportunity for Me to trust My Father. He shall keep Me in all My ways—and My way is to lay down My life, to let go of My will.”*

*முதிர் வயதிலும் கனி தந்து*..

சங்கீதம் 92ஐ யூதர்கள்..ஓய்வுநாளில் கூடிவரும்போது

பாடுவார்களாம்.

ஆனால் இன்றைய கர்த்தருடைய பிள்ளைகளாகிய நாம்.. ராஜரீக ஆசாரியக் கூட்டம் என்று வேதம் கூறுவதால், நாம் எந்நாளும் எப்போதும் கர்த்தரைத் துதிக்கவேண்டும்...காரணம்..

கர்த்தர் நம் சிருஷ்டிகர்..

அவர் நம் இரட்சகர்..

அவர் துதிக்குப் பாத்திரர். அவரைத் துதிப்பது நமது கடமை.

துதி தேவனோடுள்ள நமது உறவை வலுப்படுத்துகிறது .

அவரை மகிமைப்படுத்துகிறது..

கனப்படுத்துகிறது..

எனவே, *துதி நம் வாழ்வின் ஒரு* *பகுதியாக மாறட்டும்*.

கர்த்தர், நம் வாழ்வில்

செய்த அற்புதமான காரியங்களை நினைத்து.. நாம் முழு உள்ளத்தோடு பாடித் துதிக்கும்போது..அது நமக்கு மட்டுமல்ல.. நம்மைச்

சுற்றியிருப்பவர்களுக்கும் மகிழ்ச்சியைக் கொடுக்கும்.

அடுத்து இந்த சங்கீதத்திலே துன்மார்க்கர் , நீதிமான்களின் வாழ்வைக் குறித்துக் கூறப்பட்டுள்ளது.

துன்மார்க்கர், தேவனைத் தேடாதவர்கள். உணர்வில்லாத இதயம் உடையவர்கள். அப்படிப்பட்டவர்களின் வாழ்வு.. புல்லைப்போல செழித்துக் காணப்படலாம் .

மழை பெய்தவுடன்.. புல் செழிப்பாக வளரும் ..

பார்ப்பதற்கு அழகாக இருக்கும்..

ஆனால், அதிக வெயிலடித்தால்..

அது உடனே கருகிவிடும்..

பாதகமான சூழ்நிலைகளில் அது நிலைத்து நிற்காது.. *துன்மார்க்கரின் செழிப்பும்*

*நிலையானதல்ல*..

ஆனால் *நீதிமான் பனையைப்* *போலச் செழித்து*..

*லீபனோனிலுள்ள ..கேதுருவைப்*

*போல வளருவான்*..

இங்கே பனை என்று கூறப்பட்டிருப்பது..பேரீச்சம் மரம் என்றும் கொள்ளலாம்..( Date Palm)

இந்தப் பேரீச்சம் மரம்.. வனாந்தரத்தில் வளரக்கூடியது..

அதிக உஷ்ணமான..

மழையில்லாத

காலங்களில்.. வனாந்தரத்திலுள்ள..பிற தாவரங்கள் கருகிப் போகும்..

ஆனால் பேரீச்சம் மரமோ..

அதிகக் கனிகளைக் கொடுக்கும்.

சாதாரணமாகப் பனை மரங்களில்

கிளைகள் கிடையாது..

அது வானத்தை

நோக்கியே நிமிர்ந்து நிற்கும்..

அது பிற தாவரங்களுக்கு இடையூறாயிராது..

லீபனோன், அதிக பனி நிறைந்த இடம் ..அங்கே குளிர் அதிகமாகும் போதும்..கேதுரு மரம் ஓங்கி..உறுதியாக..

செழிப்பாக..நீண்ட காலம் இருக்கும்..

*நீதிமான்களின் வாழ்வு.. எல்லாக்* *காலங்களிலும்*..

*உயர்ந்து நிற்கும் வாழ்வு.*.

*உறுதியான வாழ்வு*..

காரணம் அவர்கள்..

கர்த்தருக்குள்

வேர் கொண்டிருப்பவர்கள். அவரிலிருந்து ஜீவனைப் பெற்றுக்

கொண்டிருப்பவர்கள்..

அதனால் எந்தப் பாதகமான சூழ்திலையும்..அவர்களை

அழித்துப் போடாது..

விசுவாசத்தில் வலுவடைய..

வளர்ச்சி பெறவே செய்யும்....

பிறருக்குப் பலன் கொடுக்கிறவர்களாகவே

இருப்பார்கள்..

அவர்கள்,முதிர்வயதிலும்

தேவனையே சார்ந்திருப்பார்கள்..

முதிர்ந்த கனி இனிமையாயிருப்பது போல..

முதிர்வயதிலும்..

அவர்கள் வாழ்வு..

கர்த்தருக்குச் சாட்சியாக..

செழிப்பாக ..கனி நிறைந்ததாகவே

இருக்கும்.

மோசேக்கு 120 வயதான பின்பும்..அவன் கண் இருளடையவில்லை..

அவன் பெலன் குறையவில்லை..

எண்பத்து நாலு வயதுள்ள அன்னாள்.தேவாலயத்தைவிட்டு நீங்காமல்.. இரவும் பகலும் உபவாசித்து…ஜெபம்பண்ணி..

ஆராதனை செய்துகொண்டிருந்தாள்..

*கொடுமையே*..

*கர்த்தர் துணையாயிருந்தால்*..

*அந்த முதுமையும் இனிமையே*..

*காரணம் நம்முடைய* *முதிர்வயதிலும்,கர்த்தர்,நம்மைத்* *தாங்குவார்*..

*ஏந்துவார்..சுமப்பார்*..

*தப்புவிப்பார்*...ஆமென்..🙏

❇️ *பாதாளத்தின் வல்லமையிலிருந்து விடுதலை* ❇️

☄️ *"மரணத்தைக் காணாமல் உயிரோடிருப்பவன் யார்? தன் ஆத்துமாவைப் பாதாள வல்லடிக்கு விலக்கிவிடுகிறவன் யார்?”* (சங்கீதம் 89:48).

💥 சங்கீதம் 89-ன் தலைப்பு *"எஸ்ராகியானாகிய ஏத்தானின் மஸ்கீல் என்னும் போதக சங்கீதம்."* 1 இராஜாக்கள் 4:31 இல் சாலொமோனின் சிறந்த ஞானத்தை விட சற்றுக்குறைந்த ஞானமுள்ளவன் என்று குறிப்பிடப்பட்டவன் இந்த ஏத்தானாக இருக்கலாம் என்று பலர் நம்புகிறார்கள். இந்த ஏத்தான் 2 நாளாகமம் 5:12 இல் பதிவு செய்யப்பட்டுள்ள மூன்று பாடகர் தலைவர்களில் ஒருவனாக இருக்கலாம்.

💥 பல சங்கீதங்கள் புலம்பலுடனும் ஜெபத்துடனும் தொடங்கி துதியுடன் சந்தோஷமாக முடிவதை நாம் காணலாம். ஆனால், சங்கீதம் 89 சந்தோஷத்துடனும் துதியுடனும் தொடங்கி புலம்பலுடனும் விண்ணப்பத்துடனும் முடிவடைகிறது. இந்த சங்கீதத்தின் முதல் 37 வசனங்கள் தேவனுடைய அளவிட முடியாத மகத்துவம் மற்றும் தாவீதுடனான அவரது உடன்படிக்கை பற்றிய அறிக்கைகள் நிறைந்தவை. பின்னர் சங்கீதக்காரன், அப்போதுள்ள நெருக்கடியான சூழ்நிலையைக் கருத்தில் கொண்டு, தனது குறைகளையும் கோரிக்கைகளையும் முன்வைக்கத் தொடங்கினான். *இந்த சங்கீதத்தில் மனித வாழ்க்கையின் குறுகிய காலம் குறித்தும் பாதாளத்தின் வல்லமையிலிருந்து மனிதனால் விடுதலை பெற முடியாதது குறித்தும் முக்கியமான ஆவிக்குரிய உண்மைகள் குறிப்பிடப்பட்டுள்ளன.*

💥 ஒவ்வொரு மனிதனும் மரணத்திற்குப் பிறகு என்ன நடக்கும் என்பதை அறிய ஆர்வமாக இருக்கிறான். அனைவரும் மரணத்திற்கு பயப்படுகிறார்கள். அவர்களில் பெரும்பாலோர் இந்த ஆர்வத்தை அடக்கி, தற்போதைய வாழ்க்கை மற்றும் அதன் சவால்களில் கவனம் செலுத்த முயற்சிக்கின்றனர். *எல்லா மனிதர்களின் நித்திய ஜீவனுக்கான தமது திட்டத்தை அனைவரும் அறிந்திருக்க வேண்டும் என்று தேவன் விரும்புகிறார்.*

💥 *அவர் மரணத்தை ஜெயமாக விழுங்குவார்* (ஏசாயா 25:8) என்று ஏசாயா மூலம் தேவன் வெளிப்படுத்தினார். *கர்த்தராகிய இயேசு கிறிஸ்து தம் மரணம் மற்றும் உயிர்த்தெழுதல் மூலம் மரணத்தை வென்றார்* (1 கொரிந்தியர் 15:54-57).

💥 *"ஆதலால், பிள்ளைகள் மாம்சத்தையும் இரத்தத்தையும் உடையவர்களாயிருக்க, அவரும் அவர்களைப்போல மாம்சத்தையும் இரத்தத்தையும் உடையவரானார்; மரணத்துக்கு அதிகாரியாகிய பிசாசானவனைத் தமது மரணத்தினாலே அழிக்கும்படிக்கும், ஜீவகாலமெல்லாம் மரணபயத்தினாலே அடிமைத்தனத்திற்குள்ளானவர்கள் யாவரையும் விடுதலைபண்ணும்படிக்கும் அப்படியானார்.”* (எபிரேயர் 2:14-15) என்று வேதம் போதிக்கிறது. இயேசுவை விசுவாசிக்கிற ஒவ்வொருவரும் மரண பயத்திலிருந்து விடுவிக்கப்படுகிறார்கள்.

💥 இயேசுவின் வார்த்தைகள்: *"நானே உயிர்த்தெழுதலும் ஜீவனுமாயிருக்கிறேன், என்னை விசுவாசிக்கிறவன் மரித்தாலும் பிழைப்பான்.”* (யோவான் 11:25). மரணத்தைப் பற்றிய ஒரு விசுவாசியின் கண்ணோட்டம் அவிசுவாசிகளின் பார்வையிலிருந்து கணிசமாக வேறுபடுகிறது. அவிசுவாசியைப் பொறுத்தவரை, மரணம் எப்படியாவது தவிர்க்கப்பட வேண்டியதும் ஒருவரின் மனதில் இருந்து வெளியேற்றப்பட வேண்டியதுமான ஒரு பயங்கரமான எதிரி. *விசுவாசியின் பார்வையில் மரணம் தோற்கடிக்கப்பட்ட எதிரி.* கர்த்தராகிய இயேசுவின் மீது விசுவாசம் வைப்பதன் மூலம் ஒவ்வொரு விசுவாசிக்கும் நித்திய ஜீவன் வாக்களிக்கப்படுகிறது.

💥 *"ஒருவன் என் வார்த்தையைக் கைக்கொண்டால், அவன் என்றென்றைக்கும் மரணத்தைக் காண்பதில்லை என்று மெய்யாகவே மெய்யாகவே உங்களுக்குச் சொல்லுகிறேன்."* (யோவான் 8:51) என்று இயேசு அறிவித்தார். தேவனுடைய வார்த்தைக்குக் கீழ்ப்படிபவர்களுக்கு மரணத்தின் மீது வெற்றி வாக்களிக்கப்படுகிறது. இந்த வெற்றி இயேசுவை ஆண்டவராகவும் இரட்சகராகவும் ஏற்றுக்கொள்பவர்களுக்காகவும், தேவனுடைய சித்தத்திற்கும் தங்கள் வாழ்க்கைக்கான அவருடைய திட்டத்திற்கும் தங்களை அர்ப்பணிப்பவர்களுக்கானது. பவுல் போதித்தபடி, இவர்கள் சுயத்திற்கு மரித்து, இயேசுவுக்காக வாழ மனமுள்ளவர்கள்: *"நாம் பிழைத்தாலும், கர்த்தருக்கென்று பிழைக்கிறோம், நாம் மரித்தாலும் கர்த்தருக்கென்று மரிக்கிறோம்; ஆகையால் பிழைத்தாலும் மரித்தாலும் நாம் கர்த்தருடையவர்களாயிருக்கிறோம்."* (ரோமர் 14:8).

🔹 *மரண பயத்தையும் பாதாளத்தின் வல்லமையையும் வென்றுவிட்டோம் என்று பறைசாற்றுவதற்காக கிறிஸ்துவுக்குள் வாழ்கிறோமா?*

🔹 *மரண பயத்தில் வாழும் அனைவருக்கும் கிறிஸ்துவின் நற்செய்தியை எடுத்துச் செல்கிறோமா?*

✅ நாம் கற்றுக் கொள்ளும் *பாடங்கள்*:

1️⃣ *கர்த்தராகிய இயேசு கிறிஸ்து தம் மரணம் மற்றும் உயிர்த்தெழுதல் மூலம் மரணத்தை வென்றார்*

2️⃣ *இயேசுவை விசுவாசிக்கிற ஒவ்வொருவரும் மரண பயத்திலிருந்து விடுவிக்கப்படுகிறார்கள். கர்த்தராகிய இயேசுவின் மீது விசுவாசம் வைப்பதன் மூலம் ஒவ்வொரு விசுவாசிக்கும் நித்திய ஜீவன் வாக்களிக்கப்படுகிறது.*

3️⃣ *தேவனுடைய வார்த்தைக்குக் கீழ்ப்படிபவர்களுக்கு மரணத்தின் மீது வெற்றி வாக்களிக்கப்படுகிறது.*

சங்கீதம் 92: 10. *என் கொம்பை காண்டாமிருகத்தின் கொம்பை போல உயர்த்துவீர்.*

1. ஆம், கொம்பு ஒரு மிருகத்தின் தலையில் இருக்கிறது. இது அந்த மிருகத்தின் பெலத்தையும், வல்லமையையும், சத்துருவை துரத்தி, தன்னை பாதுகாக்க கூடிய திறனையும், அழகையும் குறிக்கிறது.

மட்டுமல்ல, இந்த கொம்பு இசைக்கருவியாகவும், ராஜாக்களை கொம்பு தைலத்தால் அபிஷேகம் பண்ணவும் உபயோகப்படுத்தப்பட்டது.

2. உமது தயவினால் எங்கள் கொம்பு உயரும். என் நாமத்தினால் என் கொம்பு உயரும். சங்கீதம் 89: 17, 24.

3. மட்டுமல்ல, கர்த்தர் என் இரட்சண்ய கொம்பு என தாவீது கூறுகிறார். இன்று நம்முடைய வாழ்க்கையில் கொம்பாய், பெலனாய், மகிமையாய், அழகாய், நமக்காக யுத்தம் பண்ணுகிறவராய் இயேசு இருக்கிறாரா? சிந்திப்போம்.

தாவீதிற்கு ஒரு கொம்பை முளைக்கப் பண்ணுவேன் என கூறப்பட்டதும் நம் இரட்சகராகிய இயேசு கிறிஸ்துவை குறித்ததே. சங்கீதம் 132: 17.

4. ஆனால் துன்மார்க்கரின் கொம்புகளை வெட்டி போடுவேன். நீதிமான்களின் கொம்புகளோ உயர்த்தப் படும். சங்கீதம் 75: 10.

ஆம் நம்முடைய கொம்புகள் அவருடைய கிருபையால், அவருடைய நாமத்தினால், நம்முடைய நீதியினால் உயர்த்தப் படுவதாக. ஆமென். அல்லேலூயா.

📖Psalm 90:12 *Teach us to number our days, that we may gain a heart of wisdom.*

📍Psalm 90 is believed to have been written by Moses after the death of his sister, Miriam and his brother, Aaron. The incidents of Numbers 20 led the Man of God to reflect upon frailty of life against the eternal nature of God (Verses 1 & 2 ). Verse 3 - 10 describes the transient nature of mortal man.

📍Vs. 11, No one has taken the measure of God’s anger. If man knew the enormity of God’s anger, he would have given God the fear that was due to Him. At this point the psalmist prays to God to teach man about the brevity of his life. The knowledge of his upcoming death will help man to live his life in fear of God’s ways. This knowledge of death will fill man with wisdom. Proverbs 9:10 says, “The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom”. So fear of God is essential in understanding life better.

📍The uncertainty of life and death should teach us to live holy lives which are dedicated to God. Except God nobody knows what tomorrow has in store for us.

♦️(vs3-4)The things God will do for those dwelling in the secret place of The Most High are:

1.Deliver from the snare of the wicked men and demons.

2.Deliver from the snare of the rushing calamity.

3.Cover with feathers(Protection and Care).

4.Protect under His wings.

5.Make truth a shield and buckler- which protect the body and the vital parts from the arrows of the enemies.

God has a secret place for His own.

(vs2) My Refuge,My God.....These show the close relationship with God and all the benefits that come from it are for those who know Him personally and trust Him.

💥Do we trust His providence in our earthly pilgrimage?

*_God participates in our suffering_*

*_Psalm :91_*

❇️ _As a promise to the one who dwells in the shelter of the *Most High* the *Lord* tells "I will be with him in *trouble*, I will *deliver* him and *honour* him" (v15)_

❇️ _It is interesting that the *Lord does not say, I will protect him from the trouble instead he assures I will be with him in trouble.* This means that the *children of God* will face *troubles* both by *human wickedness* and as well by *devil's design* and the *Lord's promise* is to be with them in their troubles._

_What does he mean by this promise?_

❇️ _*God is willing to suffer alongside* his suffering children rather than being outside their troubles or remote controlling them from heaven.*God is an ever present help in trouble* (Ps.46:1)._

❇️ _Our *Lord* who is an embodiment of *agape love*(sacrificial love) is a *self- implicating co- sufferer* in our *pain* both *collective* and 𝗽𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹. By being with us in our suffering he 𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗲𝗻𝗴𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗻𝘀 our 𝗳𝗮𝗶𝘁𝗵 in the midst of it._

❇️ _This unique participation of *God* in our suffering confers a *spirit of courage and hope* and enables the *victims* to show the following *attitudes*._

▪️ _To face suffering with *fortitude*._

▪️ _To *forgive* the tormentors._

▪️ _To facilitate tormentor's *repentence*._

▪️ _To facilitate *reconciliation*_

_and *healing*._

_Why does God not put an end to sufferings?_

❇️ _God is not waiting on the sidelines for the right moment to *zoom* in like a *super hero* to put an end to our sufferings though we may all want that to happen._

❇️ _Our Lord is a *co- sufferer* who would prefer us pray for *forgiveness* instead of *punishment* for our *tormentors*.This is because our *real enemy* is the *devil* who *manipulates* others to *inflict suffering* upon us._

❇️ _If all the *victims* were to seek *punishment* for their *tormentors* most of the people would be liable for punishment since the *whole world is under the control of the evil one* (1Jn.5:19). Hence it makes sense to *forgive* and *promote repentence* instead of *punishment* for our enemies since the *real culprit is the devil.*_

❇️ _Praying for our enemies' forgiveness not punishment in the midst of our suffering is a *divine model* demonstrated by our *Lord Jesus Christ*._

✅ *_Insights learnt_*:

▪️ _Our Lord is a self implicating_

_co- sufferer in our sufferings_

▪️ _Forgive and not punish our enemies_

_is to be our desire_

▪️ _He empowers the victims to face_

_sufferings with fortitude &_

_intercede for tormentors_

▪️ _Devil is our real enemy not people_
